Yoshi’s room and his three sisters’ old rooms, are on the third floor. (The beds are as hard as a rock. I like that for sleeping, but as I am typing I find that my fatigue butt really hurts.) The other two rooms are used for storage. The house is mostly modern, but they have several rooms that are very traditional. Yoshi’s grandmother’s fatigue room and one of the other rooms is fatigue very traditionally decorated (thought the latter is now a big storage closet). They also have a traditional Japanese bathroom where you have to crouch. I’m thinking I am going to avoid that bathroom :). Tuesday July 20, 2004 Today was my first full day in Japan. Of course the jet lag and my last week of not sleeping right forced me up at 4 am and then again at 6am, when I rolled over and wondered what was making the incredibly loud, almost mechanical noise outside the window. |

| Yoshi says that photoblog we’ll probably see Corvettes at night Tokyo. People here like them because they are sleek-looking sports cars. Yoshi's parents' house has three floors with the first floor being itself a fully functional house. When the family moved in, there was just the first floor and they lived there while the other two floors were being built. There’s a karate training room on the first floor, too. Yoshi’s dad is a karate instructor as well as being a carpenter. The top two floors photoblog are now where the family lives. The kitchen, dining room, living room, photoblog shower, grandmother’s room, and his parent’s room are on the second floor. The bathrooms here are a little different than in the west. The toilet is in its own little room with sometimes a sink there or a urinal. The shower room has a sink to the right as you enter and a door to the shower straight ahead. There’s a bath tub next to the shower – it’s a Jacuzzi. |
