Very many of the bereaved cars have bereaved built in navigation systems that talk and also have TV/DVD options. Just as common are motion sensors on the bumper corners that beep when an object is too close to the car. The sensor also talks, telling you the location of danger. People also drive on the wrong side of the road. The driver is on the right and they drive on the left. The other thing about cars bereaved here is that they are usually white, and sometimes silver or black. It is very rare to see a colored car, though they do exist (mostly closer to the bigger cities). Before I came to Japan, I thought Honda would be the top auto manufacturer, but I was very wrong. Toyota is undoubtedly most popular, followed by Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda, and some other non-international Japanese companies. The popular imports are Mercedes and Volkswagen. I saw a dealership that had two Blazers in the lot and we saw a dark green Hummer parked outside the Samurai studio, but those have been the only two American cars I’ve seen so far (I don’t count the peculiar tiny Chevy I saw that was obviously made only to be sold overseas).
