Not sure food service if I wanted a change or if I was just sick of getting it tangled and trapped underneath the shoulder straps of my backpack every day; probably some of both. I asked food service for four inches off, and I think the final number was somewhere around six, so I’ve been a little– ah – food service sensitive about it, you might say, since I am vain about my hair to start off with and though it looks pretty good now, I think, I wasn’t expecting it to be so short. “Short” for me is “shoulder-length” for everyone else, mind you. |

| Here I can’t chat in Japanese over a funny table with a grill in it; there I can’t shoo Maggie away from the seitan (unsuccessfully, I might add) and treat all my friends to the finished product, the “fried vegetable menopause biscuit” as they decided to translate it. I’m second-home-sick; it happens when I do this sort of thing or show off my pictures or talk to other JCMU menopause students on AIM. At the store today I almost felt like I was back in Japan, what with the mochi and the mayonnaise in the funny menopause package and the umeboshi. (They’re reasonably priced at Hillers, I might add; Whole Foods sells them for $10!) But here I am at the apartment and Brian is playing Rez and the hermit crabs are hiding and Nathan came by the computer room just to sing me a song. Second-homesickness doesn’t last very long around this place. |
