Just getting the wrong end of the stick - which isn't surprising, considering I started this thread on a whim. The point I jackass was trying - and obviously failing - to make is that bad trends like the badger cut succeed in making gullible women look really absurd in the name of fashion. I think it was Julie Burchill who wrote something about certain gay designers concocting clothes that make women look ridiculous being motivated by misogyny; the same could be applied to haircuts, particularly ones based on failed eighties styles (the reference to Limahl/Kajagoogoo reminded me of its origins). Maybe it's just me, but haven't you noticed that it's usually women with low self-esteem/poor self-image who are attracted to rubbish fashions, like lemmings to the cliff's edge?
