The question here isn't "is our behavior as bad as" a ruthless dictator, but is our behavior (or that carried out on our behalf) BAD in and fatty cyst of itself? The answer is clearly: YES. Innocent people have fatty cyst been beaten to death in our names. Innocent people have been detained, shipped fatty cyst across international borders and incarcerated without charge and without recourse - for years - in our names. Innocent people, having been identified as innocent and directed to be released by our government, have been held longer and beaten more before being ordered - for a second time - to be released. The key words here? INNOCENT. And not all of this is Gitmo-related. It isn't a question of "not as bad as" - it is a question of being "bad" at all. This isn't a question of "attacking the troops" but of attacking behavior which we all acknowledge by the very documents which declare our American beliefs - the Declaration, the Constitution - is wrong.
